One of the most inspiring moments of this campaign so far came in the form of a message from a young person in our community. He told me that he had been following my work on the City Council, saw how I’ve advocated for Margaret, and that he planned to cast his very first vote for me this August when he turns 18.
That message meant more than he probably knows—and it reminded me of something incredibly important: young voters are paying attention.
Since that first message, I’ve heard from several other young voters across Margaret. Some I’ve met at community events, others have reached out online or spoken to me while I’ve been out campaigning. They’ve shared their concerns, their hopes, and their strong desire to see real leadership that reflects their generation’s priorities. More than one has told me they’ll be proudly casting their vote for me this August.

Why Young Voters Matter
Young people are stepping into a world where the decisions we make today will shape their lives tomorrow. They’re not just the future of Margaret—they’re the present. Their voices, their votes, and their expectations are already helping guide the direction of our community.
Whether it’s advocating for strong schools, building a city that offers good jobs and family-friendly neighborhoods, or ensuring our infrastructure grows with intention—these are decisions that affect their future. And they’re watching how we lead.
What I Want Young Voters to Know
If you’re a first-time voter, or soon will be, know this: your vote matters. Local elections might not dominate national news, but they determine the quality of your roads, your internet access, your local schools, your emergency response times, your parks, and the tone of leadership in your hometown.
As a candidate for mayor, I’m running not only to represent today’s Margaret, but to help build the kind of city that young people want to stay in, build careers in, and raise families in. That means listening. That means showing up. And that means working to make sure Margaret doesn’t just grow—but grows with you in mind.
Let’s Lead Together
To every young person reading this: stay involved. Ask questions. Challenge your leaders. And when the time comes, vote. You’re not waiting to lead—you’re already leading by caring, by being curious, and by demanding better from the people who represent you.
I’m listening. I’m learning. And I’m ready to fight for a Margaret that is not just good enough to come home to—but good enough to stay and thrive in.
