The St. Clair County Commission plays a vital role in governing and supporting the cities and towns across the county, including Margaret. Active Participation in County Commission Meetings

Since joining the Margaret City Council, I have made it a priority to attend county commission meetings to understand the ways in which the county’s decisions impact our community. These meetings have provided a crucial platform to:

✅ Build strong relationships with county officials, including Commissioner Ricky Parker and Chairman Stan Bateman.

✅ Stay informed on county-wide infrastructure projects, economic initiatives and grant opportunities.

Major Accomplishments with the County Commission

Through my engagement with the county commission, I have been directly involved in securing critical funding and resources for Margaret:

1. Securing Gas Tax Revenue for Margaret

I was an active member in the 4-cent gas tax negotiations, working alongside other city’s officials to ensure fair distribution of funds. As a result of these efforts, every city in St. Clair County, including Margaret, now receives $100,000 annually from the county commission. This funding is a game-changer for Margaret, helping us maintain and improve infrastructure without putting additional strain on local resources.

2. Matching Funds for Road Repairs Grant

Margaret was awarded a grant for road repairs and I worked with the St. Clair County Commission to secure matching funds that will significantly enhance our ability to complete these projects. This partnership demonstrates the importance of leveraging county resources to maximize improvements for our city’s roads and infrastructure.

Building Strong Relationships for Margaret’s Future

One of the most valuable outcomes of my work with the county commission has been establishing a strong working relationship with Chairman Stan Bateman and Commissioner Ricky Parker. Their leadership and willingness to collaborate have been essential in ensuring that Margaret receives the support it needs.
