My Ongoing Engagement with the EDC
Since completing Leadership St. Clair County, I have continued my commitment to understanding and contributing to our region’s economic development by actively participating in EDC meetings—both in person and remotely.
These meetings have provided invaluable insight into the economic strategies shaping St. Clair County and I have had the opportunity to collaborate with influential leaders, including Don, Candice, Jason and Blair. Through these interactions, I have:
✅ Gained a deeper understanding of regional economic trends and opportunities.
✅ Engaged in discussions about business recruitment, job creation and workforce development.
✅ Explored potential funding avenues and infrastructure improvements beneficial to Margaret.
✅ Strengthened partnerships with county and state officials to advocate for local growth.
Why the EDC Matters for Margaret
Margaret’s future success is directly linked to the economic initiatives happening at the county and state levels. My work with the EDC has shown me that proactive engagement with regional development programs is key to securing investment, improving public services and creating job opportunities for residents.
By maintaining strong relationships with the EDC, I am better equipped to advocate for:
- Infrastructure improvements that support growth and mobility.
- Business incentives to attract responsible commercial and industrial expansion.
- Workforce training programs that prepare our residents for high-quality jobs.
- Strategic planning efforts that ensure Margaret’s development aligns with our community values.
A Commitment to Continued Learning & Leadership
While I have already gained valuable knowledge from my involvement with the EDC, I recognize that economic development is an ongoing process. I remain committed to learning from experts, staying engaged in policy discussions and leveraging county resources to benefit the people of Margaret.
Working with the EDC has reaffirmed my belief that strong partnerships create strong communities. I will continue to attend meetings, collaborate with regional leaders and bring innovative solutions to Margaret, ensuring that our town thrives while preserving its small-town character.
